About Tech Savvy Teens

Tech Savvy Teens is a workforce development program initiated by Acton Digital, Inc a 501(c)(3) learner-driven nonprofit, designed to bridge the technology gap between generations on Oʻahu while preparing youth for real-world careers.

Our mission is to equip teenagers with essential digital skills, industry-recognized certifications, and job readiness training that lead directly to employment opportunities in today’s digital economy. Through structured training and hands-on experience, participants build technical proficiency, professional communication skills, and leadership capacity.

Teens apply what they learn by serving as paid digital mentors to kūpuna (seniors), providing one-on-one tech support, leading workshops, and helping older adults navigate everyday technology. This service-based model not only strengthens community connection and empathy, but also gives youth practical work experience that translates into future jobs, internships, and career pathways.

Open to all teens interested in technology and career development, with a focus on low-income Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander (NHPI) youth ages 13–19, Tech Savvy Teens creates a clear pathway from learning to earning. Participants gain marketable skills, build confidence, and contribute to their communities—while helping ensure that no generation is left behind in the digital world.
